Editorial
Starting
with the seventh volume of our Journal, we have applied certain changes.
- The Global NEST Journal from
now on will be issued as a quick publishing Journal i.e. from the date of
submission of a paper, all the procedure of referring, correcting, proof
reading and publishing will be completed in six months. This is necessary
as in many scientific fronts of the environmental science and engineering
we are experiencing phenomenal development and therefore the quick
publishing of results is needed.
I
would encourage you to submit papers on the thematic issues as well as in the
general environmental field as it is indicated in the website of the Journal.
- The second
innovation is the pre-publishing of the forthcoming scientific articles.
This is also necessary in order to keep the six month period from
submission to publication. At the same time the editors will have the
chance to enrich the special issues with more papers.
- The format of the published
papers has changed in order to facilitate the editing as well as to modify
the quality of the text. The authors are asked to submit their papers
following the new instructions which are shown in the website. This
approach will reduce the time of editing, will decrease the mistakes and
will reduce drastically the time required for the proof reading.
- Papers in order to be accepted
for publication should contain new knowledge on the environmental science
and engineering i.e. new data with critical presentation, new models, new
tools, critical review of a scientific area, new engineering applications
etc., and should be characterized
as worth publishing by at least two referees.
- Papers will be accepted only in
electronic form. All the handling of the papers will be completed through
e-mail.
- The Journal will be issued
electronically, www.gnest.org, as well
as in hard copy. The electronic publication of each issue will be followed
by publication of hard copy.
With
the above changes I hope to upgrade the Global NEST Journal as it is required
by the needs of our scientific field.
